Update: Woman charged in fatal hit & run remains behind bars

The woman charged in a fatal hit and run that happened on Easter morning remains in jail Wednesday morning.

The Highway Patrol charged Cher Nicholson, 51, of Bethel, with felony hit and run resulting in death on Tuesday.

A passerby found the body of Taryn Moyer, 22, along US-64 Alternate on Sunday morning.

Trooper Adam Collins says after seeing the story on WITN, a neighbor of the suspect called them saying Nicholson had a truck that matched the description of the possible vehicle that struck Moyer.

A judge set Nicholson's bond at $25,000 bond. She will be provided with a court-appointed attorney and has her next court date on April 18.

A passerby found the body of Taryn Moyer Sunday morning and reported it to troopers around 7:35 a.m.

The 22-year-old's body was discovered along US 64 Alternate near Bethel.

Cher Nicholson, 51, of Bethel was charged this morning with felony hit and run resulting in death.

State troopers are now looking for a Dodge truck or SUV in a deadly hit and run crash near Bethel.

A passerby found the body of Taryn Moyer Sunday morning and reported it to troopers around 7:35 a.m.

The 22-year-old's body was discovered along US 64 Alternate near Bethel.

Troopers say they do not know exactly when the accident occurred but say the truck or SUV should be missing a mirror and have damage on its right side.

It is unclear whether Moyer was walking along the side or in the roadway at the time of the accident, Troopers said.

A Highway Patrol reconstruction unit is working on a layout to piece together what they believe took place.
