New dental laser at Pitt County dentist eases patient fears
A new treatment option at a dental practice in the east is helping ease fears of going to the dentist.
Vinson Family Dental in Winterville is using Solea lasers to better accommodate its patients.
Dr. Brian Vinson is the owner of Vinson Family Dental and says, "We use it primarily to do fillings without anesthesia, meaning no shots and virtually no drill."
Most patients aren't aware of the Solea laser and Dr. Vinson says the practice has been introducing the new technology to its patients.
He says the laser is one less obstacle for folks getting a treatment done and is the same price as having a regular filling done.
"If you don't need to be numbed and we're working in multiple areas of the mouth, we can do that in all one visit."
Lisa Cartwright had the laser treatment done for a cavity filling. She says it was an amazing experience compared to cavity fillings in the past.
"Being able to come in here, them take care of it and me be able to just walk out and not have any of that numbness was fantastic."
Dr. Vinson says patients feel no pain when undergoing laser treatment. He says patients only feel a cooling sensation as if they were drinking cold water.
