Flora Dedeaux

Flora Dedeaux is the Digital Content Manager at WLOX News, where she has spent years helping lead the station’s digital strategy and storytelling. She began her career at WLOX in June 2022 after attending Mississippi State University for broadcast journalism, public relations, and marketing, and was promoted to Digital Content Manager in October 2023. Flora was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi, graduating from Gulfport High in 2018.

Throughout her time at WLOX, Flora has won multiple awards for social media excellence, multimedia projects, and investigative and in-depth reporting. Her work includes creating custom digital webpages for investigations and long-form stories, contributing to award-winning investigative coverage, and directing and producing a documentary, with plans to produce more long-form projects in the future.

Flora enjoys visual storytelling through videography, photography, and editing— both at work and off the clock— and is especially drawn to investigative journalism and documentaries that inform and serve the community. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new music genres, trying new restaurants and recipes, writing, learning about media law, watching films and documentaries, and traveling.

She also sings, plays guitar, and writes and records her own music, which can be found on Spotify and Apple Music by searching for “On Our Own,” her first released single.
