ENC High School Football GOTW: Havelock @ J.H. Rose

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Havelock and J.H. Rose are familiar foes that have been meeting for the last couple of decades.

These two met in week four last year- the Rampants won that one 21-14, which was the same score of the last meeting they won before that in 2021.

Rose was undefeated coming into Friday’s game with the last time they opened a season with a start like this being in 2020.

Havelock went into Friday 1-2, putting up good numbers against the opponents they’ve lost to thus far.

The Rams also had won the last three meetings against Rose in the last four years.

There’s just there’s nothing like a rambunctious bunch of Rampants and Rams.

On Friday, the Rampants struck early and often, piling on 26 in the first half. That was thanks to a few beautiful balls from Chase Davis.

Defensively both turned it up a notch in the second half. The Rams came away with an interception but were unable to capitalize.

Their third down conversion rate also improved in the second half, but they weren’t able to stop Rose.

The Rampants shut out the Rams 40-0, to further their win streak and successful start to the season.
