ECU Pitching Coach Austin Knight leaves for Tennessee job

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Tennessee Athletics announced Saturday that they were hiring ECU Pitching Coach Austin Knight to lead their staff next season.

Knight has been in this role with the Pirates since getting promoted in 2021 by Cliff Godwin.

Over his five seasons, the ECU staff led the conference in ERA while also ranking in the top 25 nationally three separate times.

ECU and Tennessee played recently in Regionals, with the Pirates outlasting them in a 14-inning classic.

Hoist The Colours’ Stephen Igoe reported that Jake Agnos will be promoted to ECU’s Pitching Coach. WITN reached out to ECU Athletics to confirm, but has not heard back yet.
