CLEARWATER, F.L. (WITN) - East Carolina beat UTSA 1-0 Sunday afternoon in the American Baseball Championship, as they repeated as Tournament Champion after last year’s win.

Colby Wallace had to go-ahead RBI single in the 6th inning, scoring Braden Burress for the lone run.

Brett Antolick pitched 1.2 innings for the Pirates, before Ethan Norby came in for 5.2 more with eight strikeouts, and then Gavin Marley and Charlie Hoagland closed it out in the late innings.

ECU and UTSA played the day prior in the winner’s bracket, with the Roadrunners winning 4-2 to advance to Sunday.

The two teams split the regular season conference crown, as UTSA had the head-to-head tiebreaker for the tourney 1-seed.

ECU now has an autobid to the NCAA Tournament as the selection show is Monday at noon to determine where they will play for Regionals.
