Kinston QB Tyler Jones signs with Mars Hill

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - After one of the best Senior seasons you’ll ever see, Kinston’s quarterback, Tyler Jones, committed to play at Mars Hill for college.

On a run to the state championship game, Tyler finished the year with 58 touchdowns and 4,424 passing yards, leading the state in both categories.

Mars Hill is a Division II program just north of Asheville, NC, and is approximately a five-hour trip by car.

“When I got there, everyone welcomed me with open arms,” Jones said, “It felt like home immediately, everybody treated me like family up there. It was just a great fit.”
