Goldsboro backing Cougar-Alum Jarran Reed in the Super Bowl

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) - While it’s been a long time since Jarran Reed graduated from Goldsboro High School in 2011, the people of Wayne County don’t forget.

With a potential Super Bowl watch party planned for Sunday, the school is buzzing for Reed. Serving as an example of what could be, his story is inspirational to those who walk the same halls he once walked.

“To see someone that can do that from the same streets of Goldsboro that these young people are, that’s motivation that if he can do it, you can too,” current Goldsboro Head Coach Ronnie McClary said.

Now a 33-year-old, Reed is playing in his first Super Bowl in his eighth NFL season.

His Seattle Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, CA, as the game will be aired on WITN at 6:30 p.m.
