Mother ‘visibly traumatized’ after husband kills her two children, father of 1 of the kids, then himself, police say

TIFFIN, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – Two children and two men were fatally shot Wednesday evening in Ohio.

Tiffin Police said the mother was physically uninjured, but “clearly in a state of shock, overwhelmed, and visibly traumatized.”

Officers were called to the home on Huss Street at 6:24 p.m. after the traumatized mother called to report the tragic shooting.

According to a release from the Tiffin Police Department, the mother of the two children, one aged 7 years old and the other 7 months old, was trying to take belongings from the home following domestic issues.

Police said the father of the oldest child, 29-year-old Dustin Willey, was helping her with the move while her husband and father of the 7-month-old, 42-year-old Ryan Eagon, was believed to be working out of town.

Investigators said evidence suggested the mother and Wiley were inside the home gathering remaining items while the kids were outside near a car. While in the house, they said they heard the 7-year-old cry out and found Eagon in the driveway.

Witnesses told police that Eagon chased Willey and fired multiple shots before he turned the gun on the children and fatally shot them both before firing again at Wiley.

Eagon then turned the gun on himself and took his own life, police said.

Law enforcement and Tiffin Fire and Rescue took Willey to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where he later died.

The 7-month-old infant and Eagon were pronounced dead at the home, while the 7-year-old child was taken to the hospital, where they later died.

Police said no shots were fired by the responding officers, and no officers were injured.

Agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were also called to the scene to help with the investigation.

As of Thursday morning, police said they were still processing evidence and conducting interviews.

“As a community, we are not accustomed to events of this horrific and heartbreaking nature in Tiffin. I ask that all residents keep the victims’ families in their thoughts as they face unimaginable loss. I also ask that our community keep the responding officers, firefighters, dispatchers, emergency medical personnel, and all others involved in their thoughts as they continue to process the emotional toll of this tragedy,” Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly said.
