WASHINGTON, D.C. (WITN) - For the second time, the Internal Revenue Service is moving the deadline to file your federal return this year.
The normal tax deadline is April 15th, but because of Hurricane Helene, the IRS pushed that to May 1st.
Now, the IRS says it has been delayed again to September 25th.
This is for most taxpayers who use Form 1040 and applies to anyone who lives or has a business anywhere in the state.
The North Carolina Department of Revenue had already extended its deadline to May 1st, but there’s no word if the state will follow the IRS and move its deadline again as well.
