Creswell daycare gives up state license after owner’s arrest
CRESWELL, N.C. (WITN) - A daycare center whose owner was arrested earlier this week has shut down.
Crystal Sheline was charged Monday with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury, and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12. Washington County Sheriff Johnny Barnes says Sheline is the owner of Blooming Minds Daycare in Creswell.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services says Sheline asked to have her state license terminated, effective yesterday.
The facility had a Three Star license from the state for children up to five years of age.
According to warrants obtained by WITN, a two-year-old child was left with “serious physical injury, deep bruising and red hand marks on the leg and thigh and mental anguish.”
The 41-year-old Sheline was released after posting a $3,000 bond.
