Deputies say an argument preceded a shooting that killed a Nash County couple Thursday night.
Sheriff Keith Stone says they are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.
Deputies and troopers responded to a domestic violence shooting around 7:00 p.m. to Shearin Road in Whitakers.
Toby and Trudy Rosser were visiting a relative's home and the two were arguing as they got out of their car, according to a news release.
Relatives told deputies that while the woman was on the porch, her husband got a gun and shot her. He then apparently shot himself a short time later.
Toby Rosser died at the scene, while Trudy Rosser was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center where she later died.
