Greenville - A Greenville woman was arrested and charged over the weekend with trafficking more than two pounds of cocaine and several counts of child abuse.
Pitt County deputies arrested Ebony Greene on Saturday. Greene is accused of trafficking 935 grams of cocaine, which equals more than two pounds. The discovery led deputies to charge her with felony trafficking in cocaine.
According to warrants, deputies say Greene left an open bag of cocaine in the presence of five juveniles. Their ages ranged from two to nine-years-old. Because the drugs were left inside a house in the presence of juveniles, Greene was charged with five misdemeanor counts of child abuse and one felony count of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for a controlled substance.
She was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center under $1.5 million bond.
During a first appearance Monday morning, Greene was given a court appointed lawyer and her next court date is March 14th.
