Winds slowly relax as Josephine moves away
A high pressure system will keep skies sunny over the next several days
Subtropical Storm Josephine formed earlier today and is expected to see its wind field pull away from the Outer Banks over the next two days. An area of high pressure settling over Atlanta will help encourage Josephine along its northeasterly track while also keeping our skies sunny and rain gauges dry.
High temperatures over the next several days will hold in the upper 60s to low 70s. The clear skies overnight will push overnight lows down into the low 40s for most of the East tonight and Thursday night. A few spots closer to I-95 could see lows dip into the upper 30s, however frost is not a concern at this point. Winds will remain northerly, keeping humidity low across all of Eastern NC through the weekend. Overnight lows will be warmer over the weekend, falling to the upper 40s to low 50s.
Next week starts dry, sunny and a touch warmer with highs in the low to mid 70s. Rain chances will hold off until Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Until then, enjoy the sunshine and October air.
