Former ‘American Idol’ contestant accused of killing his wife
(WXIX/Gray News) - A former “American Idol” contestant is accused of killing his wife in Ohio, according to authorities.
Caleb Flynn, 39, is accused of shooting his wife, Ashlyn Flynn, with a 9mm gun on Feb. 16.
He was charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence.
It was around 2:30 a.m. that police said they went to the couple’s home for a reported burglary. When officers arrived, they talked to Caleb and their two children inside the home.
That’s where Ashley was found dead.
The interaction between police and Caleb was not described; however, court records filed later claim he tampered with the crime scene.
When Flynn appeared on “American Idol” in 2013, he expressed his love for his wife during an interview, according to FOX News.
“I absolutely love the Lord. I love my wife more than anything. She is very, very pretty...I love her,” Caleb said in a 2013 Hometown Interview segment for the hit competition show. “But, you know, I’m just a normal person who absolutely loves to sing more than anything in the world.”
