Sawyer actually gave Davis his first job in law enforcement eight years ago. Davis started his career in the the detention facility in Pamlico County.

He then went to Craven Community College to earn his Basic Law Enforcement certificate and began working as a deputy sheriff. In 2011, the Pamlico County native took a position with the Narcotics Task Force at the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
