A man is recovering after police say he was accidentally shot at a gun store Sunday afternoon.
Jacksonville police say it happened at Guerilla Armament on Carmen Avenue around 3:30 p.m.
Jeremy Snyder, 35, of Jacksonville has been charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, while the victim is in good condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Police say Douglas Clapp, 28, also from Jacksonville, was shot while handling a weapon at the gun shop.
Police are calling a shooting inside a Jacksonville gun store accidental after a weapon went off Sunday afternoon.
Beth Purcell with Jacksonville Police says a gun was accidentally discharged at Guerilla Armament. The gun shop is located on 200 Carmen Ave.
Purcell said officers arrived at 3:36 Sunday afternoon to find a person shot.
Purcell said that individual was taken to the hospital, but there is no word on that victim's condition yet.
No other information has been released about the victim, and police said the case remains under investigation.
