Open House set for improvements to Greenville Town Common

By  |

Phase one of the Town Common revitalization in Greenville kicks off on Tuesday.

Greenville city planners hope, with the input of residents, to tweak plans for improving parking, sidewalks to accommodate the disabled, an inclusive playground and boat ramp improvement, among other things.

The Town Common is more than 20 acres of grass and trees framed by the Tar River.

There's an amphitheater for entertainment, but that's about all.

Greenville planners say it could be the Central Park of Greenville and residents hope the city can make it happen.

The open house on phase one is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Third Street Community Center.

You can give your ideas at that time as well.
