NC Mother Charged With Murder In Daughter's Death

A Fayetteville woman has been charged with murder in the 2009 death of her 5-year-old daughter.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Antoinette Davis was taken to the county jail Wednesday, where she's being held without bond.

Davis is also facing other charges including child abuse, human trafficking and rape of a child. It could not be immediately determined if she has a lawyer.

Five-year-old Shaniya Davis was found dead in November 2009 after being reported missing by her mother.

Antoinette Davis had been free on bond from other charges in the case, including filing a false police report, trafficking her daughter and child abuse involving prostitution.
