Arrest made in New Year's Eve murder in Pasquotank County

There has been an arrest in the New Year's Eve murder in Pasquotank County.

Deputies, with the help of Elizabeth City police and the SBI, arrest Harry Griffin, Jr. for first degree murder.

The body of Timothy Stockley III was found shot shortly after midnight on Sawyer Road in the Newland section of the county.

The 44-year-old Grifftin was arrested Monday at a family member's home and placed in jail without bond. He has a first appearance on Thursday.

A man found lying in the roadway had been shot and now deputies are searching for a killer.

The body of 37-year-old Timothy Stokley III was found shortly after midnight on Sawyer Road in the Newland area of Pasquotank County.

Deputies say Stokely used to live in the Crooked Run Road area, but he had moved away--only recently returning to the area.
