Man found dead along New Bern highway suffered from blunt force trauma

We now know how a man died after his body was found along a road last month.

New Bern police say the autopsy performed on 38-year-Carlos Berry says he died of blunt force trauma to the head and severe blood loss.

Berry was found shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on April 19th.

Authorities have not said how he received the injury.

Police have now identified the man who was found lying alongside a New Bern highway early Sunday.

Carlos Berry, 38, was found shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The cause of the man's death remains under investigation.

A check online showed Berry had several drug convictions in 2004 from Craven County.

New Bern Police say a man was found dead along a busy road Sunday morning.

Officers say they responded to 2000 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in reference to a person lying along the side of the road around 2:50 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived they found an unidentified man dead. Police aren't saying how they believe the man died.

Detectives say they are interviewing witnesses and following up on active leads.
