Continued growth in Uptown Greenville discussed at State of the District

Uptown Greenville has seen a lot of development in recent years.

City officials continued to discuss future plans for the area, including Town Common, at the State of the District on Tuesday.

Peter Kageyama, an urban activist, delivered the keynote speech at the annual event. He said there are a lot of business benefits that come when residents love their city.

Kageyama said Town Common is a huge opportunity for the city.

"I know you have a dog park. But why couldn't there be another dog park? I mean, people love their dogs. And more importantly, dog parks are social. You know, people come together. They interact with each other," he said.

The evening also featured updates on major district initiatives. We hope to have more details for you soon.
