No one was injured when a car came crashing through the front entrance to the emergency department at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount this morning.

According to Jeff Hedgepeth, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, the Crown Victoria came about eight to ten feet inside the building after crashing through the front door. The car stopped about three feet away from the security checkpoint.

The driver was not injured, and neither was anyone in the hospital, according to Hedgepeth. He says the driver is being assessed by hospital staff.

The crash is currently under investigation.
