Convicted Sex Offender To Spend Ten Years In Prison

A convicted sex offender will spend the next ten years in federal prison for possessing child porn.

Christopher Surles of Rocky Mount was sentenced Thursday in Raleigh. The 26-year-old was also placed on lifetime supervised released.

The feds say local authorities discovered Surles was registered on MySpace.com and they asked to search his computer's hard drive. Nash County investigators and the SBI found over 200 videos of children being sexually abused.

Surles, who was convicted in 2000 for taking indecent liberties with a minor, has also been ordered to pay restitution to a child whose sexual abuse was included on his computer.
