Weather causes slow Day 3 at Big Rock

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) — After a very busy first couple of days at the 61st annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, the third day was like driving in traffic, pretty slow and pretty frustrating.

Just 37 boats went offshore, hoping to reel in a big blue on Wednesday.

But showers and coastal thunderstorms kept the other 147 anglers on land. Remember, crews can only fish four out of six days.

Out of the 37 boats offshore, only two caught a big blue, but neither team thought it was big enough to impact the leaderboard at Big Rock Landing.

1. Wolverine - 588.9 lbs
2. Donna Mae - 569.9 lbs
3. Sweetums - 545.4 lbs
4. Fender Bender - 504.8 lbs
5. Sea Striker - 500.2 lbs
6. Big Tahuna - 482.3 lbs
7. Top Dog - 464.9 lbs
8.. Piracy - 461.4 lbs
9. Post Call - 451.4 lbs

The Tournament continues through Saturday.
