BETHEL, N.C. (WITN) - After finishing the 2018 season with a 1-10 record, second-year head coach Greg Watford and the North Pitt Panthers are looking to rebound in 2019.
Last season, the Panthers allowed more than 400 points, while scoring just 152, so the only way is up for this blue and orange team.
"Well, we're going to bring it," said Watford. "Now, whether to bring enough remains to be seen, because they're going to bring it also. But I will say this, we're excited about establishing our type of football. We're going to be a triple option team primarily, lots of play action. And that's what we're hoping here. That we'll be a dual threat team. Not just dual threat running, passing quarterback but able to run, establish the line of scrimmage, as well as be able to get the ball downfield vertically."
The Panthers begin their 2019 season at home against the Washington Pam Pack with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday, August 23.
