WITN EndZone Preview - Greene Central

SNOW HILL, N.C. (WITN) - First-year head coach Jason Wilson will look to lead a Greene Central Rams football team that finished 6-6 in 2018 to greener pastures in 2019.

With Allen Wooten leaving Greene Central to take the Havelock head coaching job, Wilson enters with a plan to improve Rams football in 2019.

Six starters return on both offense and defense, and one guy to watch out for his Knowledge Branch, who is expected to fill the void left by A.J. Dupree (former WITN Pepsi Player of the Week) as Greene Central's new feature running back.

Anyway you shake it though, Wilson is just excited to get going.

"It's kind of one of those things that you dream about and now here it is, so may as well live the dream right now," said Wilson. "If we stay injury free. If we play a physical brand of football. And if we stay together as a cohesive unit."

The Rams open their 2019 season with a tough road contest against South Central on Friday, August 23. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
