SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (PGA) - In his final round at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Harold Varner III hit 11 of 14 fairways and 14 of 18 greens in regulation, finishing at 10 under for the tournament. Varner III finished his day tied for 10th at 10 under; Rickie Fowler is in 1st at 17 under; Branden Grace is in 2nd at 15 under; and Justin Thomas is in 3rd at 14 under.
At the 183-yard par-3 fourth, Varner III hit a tee shot 186 yards at the green, setting himself up for the 15-foot putt for birdie. This moved Varner III to 1 under for the round.
On the par-4 ninth, Varner III's 160 yard approach to 5 feet set himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Varner III to 2 under for the round.
After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 428-yard par-4 10th hole, Varner III had a 113 yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Varner III to 3 under for the round.
After a 365 yard drive on the 472-yard par-4 11th, Varner III chipped his fourth shot to 6 feet, which he rolled for one-putt bogey on the hole. This moved Varner III to 2 under for the round.
On the 163-yard par-3 16th, Varner III's tee shot went 187 yards to the right side of the fairway and his chip went 17 yards to the green where he rolled a two-putt for bogey. This moved him to 1 over for the round.
After a 311 yard drive on the 332-yard par-4 17th, Varner III chipped his second shot to 7 feet, which he rolled for one-putt birdie on the hole. This moved Varner III to even-par for the round.
