ECU junior middle blocker Toya Osuegbu has been selected the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement by the league Monday afternoon.

The weekly honor is the first of Osuegbu’s career and the first for the program since Bri Wood also earned offensive accolades Oct. 9, 2017.

Osuegbu led the Pirates to a pair of AAC victories at Connecticut and Temple over the weekend, helping ECU (12-4, 4-1 AAC) extend its current winning streak to five matches and keep pace with Tulsa for a third-place tie in the conference standings. She averaged 3.00 kills per set, 3.38 points per set, 0.62 blocks per set and hit .447 in the pair of four-set triumphs.

Osuegbu began the weekend with a team-high 12 kills, four blocks and a .556 hitting percentage against the Huskies before delivering 12 more kills, a block and a .350 hitting mark versus the Owls.

The Pirates are back in action Friday when they play their third-straight road match at defending AAC champion Wichita State.
