Stefano Migliorati Wins Italian 800m National Title

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Rising junior Stefano Migliorati of the East Carolina track and field program returned to his home country of Italy a few weeks ago and picked up some hardware as he captured the 800m title at the 2017 Italian Athletics Championships in Trieste.
The Italian Athletics Championships (Italian: Campionati italiani assoluti di atletica leggera) are the national championships in athletics, organized every year by the Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera.
Migliorati crossed the finish line in 1:49.85 to win the event after qualifying fifth in the preliminaries.
During the recently completed outdoor season, Migliorati advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in the 800m. He set the school record in the event with a time of 1:48.68 at the Duke Invitational before winning the American Athletic Conference title in a time of 1:49.49 in Houston, Texas back on May 14.
