GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU men's basketball team will be the No. 11 seed in the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship and will play sixth-seeded UCF on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. on ESPNU.

The winner of Thursday's contest will advance to take on third-seeded Houston in Friday's quarterfinals.

The Pirates (10-19, 4-44 AAC) and Knights (18-12, 9-9) met just once during the regular season with UCF posting a 59-39 win on New Year’s Eve.

This will mark the second time the two teams will meet in The American Championship. ECU defeated the Knights in overtime during the First Round of the 2016 American Championship in Hartford, Conn. The Pirates are 2-1 against UCF all-time in conference tournament play, going 1-1 against the Knights when both teams were in Conference USA.

This year's tournament will be held March 8-11 at the Amway Center in Orlando.

Tickets are available online at www.AmwayCenter.com, in person at the Amway Center box office, or by calling 407-440-7900. Tickets also are available through the ECU Athletics Ticket Office.
