CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PANTHERS) — The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that the team has re-signed safety Eric Reid to a 3-year contract. He is now under contract with Carolina through the 2021 season.
Reid, a potential unrestricted free agent prior to signing, joined the Panthers in Week 4 of the 2018 season after spending the previous five years with San Francisco.
In 2018, he started all 13 games played and recorded 73 tackles, five passes defensed, one interception and one sack.
Originally entering the NFL in 2013 as a first round draft pick out of Louisiana State, Reid earned Pro Bowl honors in his rookie season with the 49ers and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team after recording 92 tackles, 11 passes defensed and four interceptions on the season.
For his career, Reid has played in 83 games, starting 82 of the contests, and has tallied 448 tackles, 39 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and two sacks.
