Northside High School senior plays in first and final game and scores big with fans

BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A heart warming moment Thursday night at Northside High School in Beaufort County. The school's boy's basketball team manager finally made it into the game for the first time in his 4 years as manager and scores at the buzzer.

Northside hosted Mattamuskeet in boys varsity basketball. With two minutes left to play in the game, Senior Garrett Rose, who has been a manager on the team and attending practices for the last couple of years, dressed out for the first time during the Panthers final regular season home game.

Rose was able to score his first ever basket and he also comes up with the ball on defense at the other end of the court and takes it down the court for another basket at the buzzer.

Garrett Rose will remember that moment for a lifetime. Northside won the game 87-55 with a hometown crowd cheering them on and fans like Jodi Rowe Dail was taking videos too. The video post on social media is already getting a lot of attention and kudos for not only the Northside team for organizing the winning moments, but also to the Mattamuskeet team for supporting the game plays that led to the special moments.
