KINSTON, NC — The 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game rosters were released on Thursday afternoon featuring Down East right-handed pitcher Jonathan Hernandez on the World Team. The game features Minor League Baseball’s top prospects in a USA vs. World contest.

Hernandez, 20, slots at No.17 and 18 on Baseball America's and MLB Pipeline’s Top-30 ranking of prospects on the Rangers’ farm respectively. The Santiago, D.R. native is one of ten Dominicans named to the roster for the World Team on the 25-man sheet. He will be the only Rangers representative for either roster.

The son of former Major League pitcher Fernando Hernandez (DET), Jonathan is currently 1-2 with a 4.71 ERA in four starts at the advanced-A level. He is currently riding a stretch of 13 consecutive scoreless innings over his last two starts at home.

On Sunday, July 9th, the teams will matchup live on MLB Network at 4:00 p.m. (ET) from Marlins Park in Miami, Florida. The contest will mark the 19th year of the Futures Game with Team USA holding an 11-7 all-time series lead. Last year in San Diego, the World Team snapped a six-game losing streak to the Americans in an 11-3 victory at PetCo Park.
