WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - Jon Blank is no longer Washington Pam Pack's head football coach or athletic director. Blank announced his resignation on Twitter Friday.

Blank compiled a 17-19 overall record in three seasons as the Pam Pack's head coach. His team finished 9-4 this past season.

Blank wrote on Twitter:

"Today I resigned as head football coach of the Washington Pam Pack. In no way is this a reflection of the players in the program. I love each and every one of them, and I was hoping to tell them that personally before this news hit the press. Coaching at Washington has been an incredible opportunity and I am proud of the things that we have accomplished since 2002. Sometimes personal issues cause professional things to change, and I have made the decision to move forward professionally. I'd like to thank Dr. Michael Swinson for believing in me and giving me an opportunity, my coaching staff for their loyalty and the hours they put in, the community support has been second-to-none, and the families of our players for trusting the process. Great things are going to happen for Washington Football in the very near future, and I will be rooting the players on from afar. I hope the Washington community will go fill the stands next season for this amazing group of young men."

In a text exchange with WITN Sports, Blank said, "Today was a difficult decision. I hope to coach again at some point, whether that's next year or down the road a little."

Washington has yet to name a replacement for Blank.
