GREENVILLE, NC -- ECU men's basketball head coach Jeff Lebo announced Friday afternoon that sophomore guards Jeremy Sheppard and Raquan Wilkins have been suspended indefinitely.

Lebo announced the news before Friday's practice, but did not give a reason for the suspension.

As a freshman, Sheppard led the Pirates in assists and steals per game and was voted to The American All-Rookie Team. He played in 30 games and made 13 starts during the 2016-17 season, averaging 9.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Sheppard was also the second freshman in ECU history to record 100 assists in a season (104). His season high in points came at home against Tulane when he scored 18.

Wilkins played in 27 games and made one start as a freshman at Charlotte. He scored 12 points in that game against the 49ers.

ECU opens the 2017-18 season November 12 at home against Coppin State.
