Breezy Burton then clubbed a three-run home run to left center to make the score 4-0. A Mycek single and walk drawn by freshman utility player Logan Wood gave the Pirates some life in the top of the seventh but Heebner induced a grounder to end the contest.

Both teams left five runners on base while Heebner hurled just 76 pitches in going the distance.
