SNOW HILL, N.C. (WITN) - Greene Central's Imajae Dodd committed to play college basketball at UNCW, the senior announced Sunday on Instagram.
The 6'7" forward and former WITN Pepsi Player of the Week had multiple offers from other schools, but picked the Seahawks because of his strong relationship with head coach C.B. McGrath.
"I felt UNCW was at home," said Dodd. "I had a couple schools. I had one school in Ohio. Another school in Maryland. I just felt like staying close to home and playing for Coach [C.B.] McGrath would be a good option."
Dodd was UNCW's first commitment for the Class of 2019.
Last year, the gifted forward helped the Rams reach the 2A State Championship game, before falling to Forest Hill, 63-49.
