The Arizona Diamondbacks announced via twitter that former ECU baseball player Jack Reiheimer has been called up to the big leagues.
Reinheimer, who was drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of ECU in 2013, was traded to the Diamondbacks in June of 2015 in the Welington Castillo - Mark Trumbo deal.
The 25-year old was called up from Triple-A Reno and could see time at shortstop for the D-Backs since Chris Owings is now on the disabled list and Ketel Marte is bereavement leave.
