Farmville Central sophomore verbally commits to NC State

FARMVILLE, N.C. (HSOT) - NC State's men's basketball team picked up a commitment from a member of the Class of 2021 on Monday morning.

Farmville Central High School sophomore Terquavion Smith made his verbal commitment to the Wolfpack on Monday, his high school coach Larry Williford confirmed to HighSchoolOT.com.

"Coach [Kevin] Keatts and his staff are excited. They had a great evaluation on him," Williford told HighSchoolOT.com. "We went to team camp there this summer so they got to see him play over four days. They made him a priority since then."

Smith is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound shooting guard and a member of the 24-0 Farmville Central basketball team. HighSchoolOT.com projects his team will receive the No. 1 seed in the 2A state playoffs next week.

In 24 games, Smith has averaged 18.6 points, 5.1 assists and five rebounds for Farmville Central.

According to 247Sports.com, Smith also reported offers from East Carolina and High Point when he committed to the Wolfpack.
