GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Each of the four American Athletic Conference men's basketball teams that earned postseason bids during 2017-18 will visit Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum during the upcoming season as the league office announced each team's home and away opponents for the 2018-19 campaign Thursday.

The Pirates’ conference schedule features a home-and-home series against UConn, Houston, Memphis, USF, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The Pirates will host Cincinnati and Temple in their lone meetings of the season and travel to UCF and SMU for road only matchups.

Cincinnati, Houston and Wichita State each played in the NCAA Tournament last season with Temple participating in the NIT.

The 2018-19 campaign welcomes the return of head coach Joe Dooley, who steered the Pirates’ program for four years in the late 1990s and owns the highest winning percentage (.523) in the school’s Division I era. Dooley led Florida Gulf Coast to five consecutive postseason bids, including back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2016 and 2017 prior to regaining the reigns at ECU.

This season, the Pirates will return a pair of starters – senior Isaac Fleming and sophomore Dimitrije Spasojevic. The other returning lettermen earned starting experience as freshmen a year ago including Shawn Williams, who was named the 2018 American Athletic Conference Rookie-Of-The-Year, along with K.J. Davis and Justin Whatley. Junior Seth LeDay will be eligible to play this season after sitting out the 2017-18 campaign in accordance with NCAA transfer rules.

Times, dates and television information on the 2018-19 American Athletic Conference slate will be released at a later date in addition to ECU's entire schedule.
