ECU men's basketball looks to end streak vs Tulsa

The ECU men's basketball team will host conference opponent Tulsa Sunday at 2 p.m.

Tulsa (15-10, 5-7) vs. East Carolina (9-15, 2-10)

Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum, Greenville, North Carolina.

BOTTOM LINE: Tulsa looks to extend East Carolina's conference losing streak to five games. East Carolina's last AAC win came against the Tulane Green Wave 66-65 on Jan. 31. Tulsa blew out Tulane by 23 on the road on Thursday.

SENIOR STUDS: Tulsa's DaQuan Jeffries, Sterling Taplin and Curran Scott have collectively accounted for 45 percent of the team's scoring this season, including 55 percent of all Golden Hurricane points over the last five games.

DOMINANT DAQUAN: Jeffries has connected on 39 percent of the 105 3-pointers he's attempted and has made 6 of 10 over his last three games. He's also made 73.7 percent of his foul shots this season.

WINLESS WHEN: East Carolina is 0-9 this year when it scores 65 points or fewer and 9-6 when it scores at least 66.

ASSIST-TO-FG RATIO: The Pirates have recently used assists to create baskets more often than the Golden Hurricane. East Carolina has 39 assists on 68 field goals (57.4 percent) across its previous three contests while Tulsa has assisted on 41 of 84 field goals (48.8 percent) during its past three games.

TIGHTENING UP: East Carolina's offense has turned the ball over 14 times per game this season but is averaging nine turnovers over its last five games.
