GREENVILLE, N.C. – The 24th Annual Meet the Pirates event, ECU's preseason football fanfest, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 18 at Minges Coliseum from 6-8 p.m. and is being presented this year by Piggly Wiggly Fresh Buy. Activities will once again be open to the public, family friendly and free for all in attendance. Entry into the stadium will be through Gate 5 on the North side.
Pirate football fans are invited to receive autographs from third-year head coach Scottie Montgomery and the 2018 team during the event. Posters and schedule cards with game information will be available for free to fans. To help ensure everyone in attendance has a chance to meet all the players and Coach Mo, fans are asked to limit their autograph requests to ONLY one (1) item per person.
Fans will also have a chance to secure autographs from the soccer and volleyball programs, as well as the cheerleaders, dance team and PeeDee during the same window of time. Other attractions include inflatable activities, the pirate skull entrance for photo opportunities, and several Piggly Wiggly vendors will be on hand to offer fans tailgate samples throughout the event.
ARAMARK concessions and the Dowdy Student Stores souvenir booth, which will have the latest in Pirate merchandise including items suitable for autographing for each sport, will be open beneath the north side of the lower-level grandstands. Fans are asked to keep their food and beverages off the football field.
The Pirates will open the 2018 season at home against in-state opponent, North Carolina A&T inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 1 with a 6 p.m. (ET) scheduled kickoff.
As in past years, fans that have not purchased their 2018 season tickets will have the opportunity to do so at the event. Fans can test out selected open seats that are available to purchase as season tickets. Ticket office and Pirate Club representatives will be on hand to assist fans and take orders.
Season tickets remain on sale with tickets starting at $175 each, in addition to 3-game mini-plan packages for as low as $105 and single game tickets for all seven home games this season. Purchases may be made via ECU's Online Ticket Center or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at (800) DIAL-ECU.
