ECU Women's Basketball Set To Host Eight Non-Conference Games in 2018

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women’s basketball team will play eight of its 13 non-conference games at home this season, as the 2018-19 non-conference schedule was released by head coach Heather Macy on Saturday.

The Pirates’ season begins with five straight home games, the first being a matchup with Maryland-Eastern Shore on Tuesday, Nov. 6 in Minges Coliseum.

Following the opener, Monmouth (Nov. 9), Grand Canyon University (Nov. 14), Kennesaw State (Nov. 18) and Wake Forest (Nov. 24) will all travel to Greenville for games in Minges.

ECU will close out the November portion of the schedule with a road trip to William & Mary on Nov. 27.

December begins with a trip to Charlotte on Dec. 1.

After a 12-day layoff, the Pirates return home for consecutive home games, playing host to Liberty on Dec. 13 and USC Upstate on Dec. 16.

A mid-December trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Beach Ball Classic has ECU slated to battle Longwood on Dec. 19 and SC State on Dec. 21. The final trip of the non-conference schedule comes when the Pirates travel to Duke for a Dec. 28 matchup.

The non-conference slate wraps up Dec. 30 with a home game against UNC Wilmington.

The American Athletic Conference has also released women’s basketball pairings for the 2018-19 season. The Pirates’ conference slate includes home-and-home series against Memphis, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. ECU will host UCF, Cincinnati and USF and will travel to UConn, Houston and Temple.

ECU returns 11 players from last season’s squad, including its top five scorers in conference play. The Pirates also welcome three newcomers to campus this year.

Times, dates and broadcast information for the 2018-19 American Athletic conference schedule along with times for the non-conference slate will be released at a later date.
