ECU running back Anthony Scott suffered a broken collarbone late in Saturday's 41-3 win over UConn and could be done for the season.
After benching Anthony Scott because of fumbling issues, ECU head coach Scottie Montgomery was trying to get Scott back into the rotation with an opportunity late in the pirates game against UConn. unfortunately, Scott took a big hit on third down near the goal line and suffered an injury.
"He had just got a lot of energy and juice from scoring and then to have it called back and then to have what happened to him there at the end it's very hard for a young person to go through something like that but his teammates were all around him," said Montgomery. "I was there when he came out of surgery, a lot of our coaches were there. Today we got a chance to see him, the whole team got a chance to see him so he's turning the corner now."
The Pirates will stay with James Summers and Shawn Furlow at running back when the Pirates travel to Tulsa this Saturday.
