GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Former D.H. Conley star wide receiver C.J. Johnson is "doing great" adjusting to ECU, according to ECU football head coach Mike Houston.
The three-star recruit and current freshman is doing his best to stand out at preseason camp.
Of course, it certainly helps learning the system when he already has a Viking connection with expected starting QB Holton Ahlers.
However, just like any normal incoming freshman, Johnson is still doing his best to adjust to the many changes.
"He's a freshman," said head coach Mike Houston at camp Wednesday morning. "It's his first college camp, it's his first college action, and I think he's doing great. I think he's shown he's going to be a great player for us in time. I think he's a guy that can contribute for us this year. I think he has to catch up with the speed of the game and certainly get our scheme down, but certainly skill-wise, he's a guy that can play for us."
