D.H. Conley sweeps second round of state playoffs

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The D.H. Conley baseball, softball and soccer teams all won their second round state playoff games on Friday at D.H. Conley High School.

Baseball

The Vikings advance and will face Jacksonville in the third round of the 3A state tournament.

Lauren Wiles picked up the complete game win allowing 1 hit, no runs, 4 walks and struck out 11 batters. Anna Sawyer went 4 for 4 with a double & 2 RBIs. Madison Bowers went 1 for 4 scoring a run. Olivia Knight went 1 for 3 scoring a run.

The Lady Vikings advance and will face Harnett Central in the third round of the 3A state tournament.

Soccer

D.H. Conley hosted Southern Lee in the second round of state playoffs this evening. Ashley Tucker and Jenna Rupp had a goal each in the first half. The score at half time was 2-0. During the second half Jenna Rupp was able to find the net to add another goal on the scoreboard. The final score was 3-0. Assist by Allison Dixon (3). Maeve English earns the shut out for tonight’s game.
