ECU junior Jake Agnos has been named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week for the second time this season, while sophomore Alec Burleson was selected to the Honor Roll the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Haymarket, Va. native earned his fourth win of the season Friday night and set the tone for No. 11 ECU’s weekend series sweep at USF. Agnos tied a career-high with 11 strikeouts pushing his season total to a league-best 61, which also ranks 14th nationally. He registered at least one punch out in all six frames including four in the first and two in both the second and third stanzas. The lefty surrendered just three hits, issued two walks and allowed just three Bulls to reach second base.

Burleson picked up his second AAC Honor Roll selection of the year after helping the Pirates to their second-straight league weekend series sweep. The Denver, N.C. native batted a team-best .538 (7-for-13) on the weekend with a pair of home runs (both solo), four RBI and three runs scored. He collected at least two hits in all three games pushing his season multi-hit total to a program-best 14 games. Burleson also plated at least one run in all three games with two coming in the Pirates 13-7 series-clinching win.

With the duo’s honors, it marks the eighth and ninth time this season a Pirate has earned AAC weekly accolades following Agnos (pitcher/Feb. 25; pitcher/April 1), Turner Brown (honor roll/March 11), Spencer Brickhouse (player/March 25), Burleson (honor roll/Feb. 18; player/Feb. 25; honor roll/April 1) and Kuchmaner (pitcher/March 11; pitcher/March 18).

ECU (21-6) will be back in action on Wednesday, April 3 when it plays host to Duke (14-14). First pitch at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium is slated for 6:30 p.m. (ET).
