Woman faces 45 more embezzlement charges involving water company
There are more charges involving the theft of money from an Eastern Carolina water utility.
Pitt County deputies say Shatreka Joyner is facing 45 additional embezzlement charges after an audit.
The 39-year-old Greenville woman worked for the Bell Arthur Water Corporation.
She was originally arrested last month on two counts of embezzlement and released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
Joyner was arrested on the additional charges yesterday.
Deputies say the woman took between $5,000 and $6,000 from customer payments to the utility. None of the customers were impacted by the embezzlement, according to a news release.
Joyner bonded out Wednesday after posting a $50,000 secured bond.
