Woman charged with trafficking heroin by Beaufort police

BEAUFORT, NC (WITN) - A Vanceboro woman has a million dollar bond after her arrest for trafficking heroin in another Eastern Carolina town.

Beaufort police say Victoria Smith, 24, was busted on Monday after a three-month investigation by Carteret County deputies, Newport police and Beaufort police.

Smith is facing multiple charges of trafficking heroin.

Police say when arrested, the woman was found with heroin, drug paraphernalia, other items associated with selling drugs, along with over $1,800 in cash.

Police say their investigation is still open and more charges are pending in the case.
